Vanamahotsav 2024: Nurturing Nature at the Institute of Health Sciences

At IHS, we take pride in celebrating Van Mahotsav, the Festival of Trees, every year. This annual event, observed in the first week of July, is a time when our community comes together to plant trees, raise awareness about the importance of forests, and take meaningful action to protect our environment.

Van Mahotsav, initiated in 1950 by Dr. K.M. Munshi, was designed to create a culture of conservation and responsibility towards our environment. By participating in this festival, we aim to:

  • Promote Environmental Conservation: Planting trees to enhance our green cover and combat climate change.
  • Educate and Raise Awareness: Conducting workshops and campaigns to highlight the critical role of forests in maintaining ecological balance.
  • Encourage Community Involvement: Engaging students, faculty, and the local community in meaningful environmental activities.
  • Foster Sustainable Development: Supporting initiatives that contribute to long-term ecological health.
